About this Consult:
Taryn had a child vaginally followed 22 months later with triplets (via c section) who are now 4yo.
She has early onset menopause in her early 30s.
She first had stress urinary incontinence with vomiting in her second pregnancy, which has continued after birth.
When the triplets were 2 years old she started experiencing menopause symptoms, and is about to start on hormone therapy for this.
Taryn is experiencing prolapse symptoms with working out and lifting her children.
She finds it has gotten worse cyclically since her menopause symptoms started but also fluctuate without a known pattern.
Taryn has stress urinary incontinence with jumping and running backwards.
She uses a ring pessary for a known prolapse that she wears only when working out.
She sees her Women’s Health Physio every 4 months to monitor for any progression of her prolapse.
No progression has been noted so far, even though she can have significant prolapse symptoms.
She’s already implemented tennis ball release for tight muscles through the hips and pelvis.
Taryn is worried about her prolapse and the feelings of being sore at the end of the day even with ‘just’ daily parenting tasks. Taryn feels broken.
Taryn wants to know if there are things she can do to improve her lifting strategy without making things worse.
What symptoms does Taryn experience during the assessment?
What suggestions does Antony have to change them in the moment?
