What are people saying about this course?

“I can not recommend this course enough – it takes a unique and original view on Diastasis recti management.

We get to see an actual real time consult with Lisa and get to watch her progress in a short space of time. Then we get to see Antony and Lisa review the consult and tell us their insights into what was going on for both of them.

This course is extremely beneficial for anyone working with or living with Diastasis as it tackles many of the stories surrounding treatment and the return to high level sport.

It will have you thinking and reflecting on all your thoughts around the topic of diastasis and give you a whole new perspective on it.”

Antony and Lisa met via a mutual friend Brianna Battles – Brianna and Antony have been friends for years and Lisa needed to see someone about her Diastasis so Lisa booked in for an appointment online.

A one hour session turned into 2 and we had Lisa’s physical therapist there as well as her friend Katie to hold the camera. What followed was the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Both Lisa and Antony share a love of CrossFit, #DiastasisRecti, and empowering women through physical activity.

Lisa generously allowed her initial assessment to be made into this course and we recorded our thoughts while we watched the content. We hope you enjoy the course – find out more about Antony and Lisa under “Explore – Our Teaching Staff

Lisa Ryan

CrossFit Lover since 2004 and a Former Regional Level Competitor. Level 2 CrossFit trainer and Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Specialist.
Lisa Ryan has been doing CrossFit since 2004 and a former regional level competitor (2010 - 2013). She is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer and also a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Specialist. After having her second son, she decided to change careers from a high school English teacher of 12 years to a pregnancy and postpartum athleticism trainer. She never thought that she would change careers; however, this became a heart project that she couldn't ignore. Lisa is on a mission to help moms avoid the misinformation, confusion, panic, pain, and fear that she experienced during her return to fitness. Even though advertisements on social media show a  “one size fits all” answer for postpartum fitness, each situation is drastically different. By really listening to each woman’s story, she provides an individualized approach to both empower them and help them heal their mind and body. After having her own abdominoplasty/tummy tuck procedure she has found that it is even more rare for women to have specific guidance on return to fitness after “clearance” from the surgeon. Each woman needs a unique plan depending on surgery procedure and movement goals; but, there is a way to recover with intention and progressive strategy.  Helping women recover from these surgeries has become another passion of hers, along with normalizing the length of the process.
